Rutherford Academy

Rutherford Academy is a private non-profit school that has been serving the Murfreesboro and Middle Tennessee education community for over 17 years. It offers therapeutic special education day school for 1st through 12th grade students, providing educational programs for students identified with emotional and psychiatric disorders, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dual-diagnosis, and/or developmental delays. The school's approach focuses on helping children and adolescents reach their full potential not only as students but also as individuals, with a comprehensive educational environment that caters to the diverse needs of its students. Key features include a low staff-to-student ratio, specialized and individualized curriculum, school social work services, and certified Trauma Informed Care trainers on staff. The school also offers various programs and services, such as counseling, Applied Behavior Management systems, cultural diversity and socialization, transition services, and vocational planning, all aimed at promoting academic and personal growth for its students.
