SailFuture Academy

SailFuture Academy is a unique, tuition-free career preparatory high school that combines project-based learning and paid apprenticeships to prepare students for the real world. The academy's educational approach is centered around providing students with hands-on, practical experiences that combine academic and experiential learning. This approach includes student-led businesses, paid internships, work-based experiences, and project-based coursework designed to enhance problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Key programs and features include a focus on business, design thinking, social-emotional learning, math, English, career exploration, and maritime studies. One of the academy's distinctive characteristics is its emphasis on real-world application and practical experiences, with a curriculum that is devoid of homework and standardized tests. Upon graduation, students earn a certified Department of Education high school diploma, as well as certifications, working experience, and a comprehensive portfolio showcasing four years of work.
